ठीक पाँच बजे हमारे घर के सामने कई गाड़ियाँ, रिक्शा और स्कूटर जमा हो गए। उनमें टिक्कू, टीनू, कूकी, मीनू, आकू, नीरू, डब्बू, पोगी, राजू, शीशू और बेबी वग़ैरा उतरे। उन सबकी गोद में अपने-अपने ख़रगोश थे और हाथों में तहाइफ़ के बंडल। वही तोहफ़े जिनका ज़िक्र ऊपर हो चुका है। उन पैकेटों पर एक ख़रगोश का नाम भी लिखा था। लक्की की तरफ़ से, प्रोफ़ेसर की तरफ़ से, मून लाइट की तरफ़ से, डिक्की और वुड-वुड की तरफ़ से वग़ैरा-वग़ैरा।

एक नदी के किनारे उसी नदी से जुड़ा एक बड़ा जलाशय था। जलाशय में पानी गहरा होता हैं, इसलिए उसमें काई तथा मछलियों का प्रिय भोजन जलीय सूक्ष्म पौधे उगते हैं। ऐसे स्थान मछलियों को बहुत रास आते हैं। उस जलाशय में भी नदी से बहुत-सी मछलियां आकर रहती थी। अंडे देने के लिए तो सभी मछलियां उस जलाशय में आती थी। वह जलाशय लम्बी घास व झाड़ियों द्वारा घिरा होने के कारण आसानी से नजर नहीं आता था।
